  • Microorganisms are now being used for food products, medicines, enzymes and fuels. These reactions take place in a fermenter
  • Industrial fermenters are used to control environmental factors such as temperature, oxygen and CO2 concentration, pH and nutrient levels. This is monitered by special probes, and so that the microorganisms have nothing limiting them from growth and respiration
