1.11 understand the terms atomic number, mass number, isotopes and relative atomic mass (Ar)

Atomic number – the number of protons in the nucleus of an atom of an element

Mass number – the nu,her of protons and number of neutrons (nucleus) 

Isotopes – Atoms with the same amount of protons and electrons but with a differing number of neutrons in the nucleus 

Relative atomic mass (Ar) – the mass of one atom of an element
