2.7 describe the tests for glucose and starch

Test for glucose – Benedict’s solution (blue -> brick red)

  1. 2cm³ of Benedict’s solution to 2cm³ of glucose, shake mixture
  2. Leave test tube in beaker of boiling water
  3. If glucose is present, solution should turn brick red

Test for starch – Iodine reagent (red -> blueish black)
