2.11 describe experiments to investigate how enzyme activity can be affected by changes in temperature

  1. Put starch into a test tube – you may heat, cool or leave
  2. Add amylase (or another enzyme)
  3. With this mixture (starch and amylase) you can add iodine (test for starch), making sure it’s on a white tile so you can see the colour change
  4. Time how long it takes for the iodine to fully turn the mixture black
  5. Repeat with different temperatures
