Parallel circuits are more appropriate for domestic lighting.
- Bulbs connected in parallel glow brighter because 2 bulbs in series have a higher tresistance than a single bulb, and current doesn’t have to flow through the combined resistance that a series circuit poses
- If one lamp blows, the other lamps will continue to glow. This is because there is still a complete circuit
- You are able to control each light individually in a parallel circuit
- In a a series circuit the potential difference across each bulb is smaller, so the brightness of the bulb varies
